Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 11, 2026

This policy explains what information Ngamuche ("we", "us") collects when you use ngamuche.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information — your name, email address, and role (family or tutor) when you sign up. Learning information — lesson bookings, progress, and purchases, so the Service works. Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers. Tutor verification — tutors complete identity verification through Stripe; we store only the verification outcome. Technical information — basic logs (IP address, browser type) for security and to keep the Service running.

2. Children

Ngamuche is designed for families. Children's accounts are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian; we collect only the information the parent provides (such as a first name and learning progress) and never market directly to children.

3. How we use information

To provide and improve the Service: matching learners with tutors, delivering lessons and materials, processing payments and payouts, preventing fraud and abuse, and sending service emails (such as booking confirmations and sign-in links). With your consent, we may send product updates — you can opt out any time.

4. What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use children's data for anything beyond providing the Service to your family.

5. Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that run the platform — Stripe (payments and tutor verification), Supabase (database and authentication), and our hosting and email providers — each bound to use it only to provide their service to us. Tutors see the learner information needed to teach a booked lesson. We disclose information if required by law.

6. Retention & security

We keep account data while your account is active and as required for legal and accounting purposes afterwards. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security, and payment credentials never touch our servers.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by contacting us through the support page. Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK, California, and other jurisdictions), you may have additional statutory rights, which we honor.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here with a new effective date and notify account holders of material changes by email.
